Hipogrifo is a Blue-black, ridden here by J.P. Giacomini in Passage. He has a Super Work Ethic, Enormous Presence and Dressage Talent. His pedigree is 100% Veiga. His piaffe, passage and extensions show Big Elevation & and his bullfighting pedigree gives him a great Cow Sense. Hipogrifo is 22 in 2011 and he is probably one of the very last pure Veiga left in the world and one of the very last sons of the famous Maravilha (a sire of great importance as both a sire of bullfighting horses and of broodmares).
Hipogrifo’s work ethic and dedication to his job passes right on to his offspring. His son JP Orion (born 2005, out of JP Adonia) has amazing dressage talent and is always totally interested in his work and cheerful. He is showing great piaffe, extensions, passage, changes and pirouettes. His younger full brother JP Zorro (born 2008) is on the same path with an absolutely fabulous canter, always in balance and engaged. JP Orion’s son JP Zatopek (out of JP Atalanta) is following in his tracks with 3 great gaits and a wonderful attitude.
He has started his own breeding career and produced 2 beautiful fillies this year (JP Zexy and JP Zarina) that are very likely to integrate the broodmare band. Breeders with Spanish mares or Lusitanos of Spanish origins (Andrade, CN) should take advantage of those Veiga genes before it is too late.
